Prochaine Station...

The ubiquitous phrase of the Montréal metro. In London England, they have ‘Mind the Gap’ but in Montréal Quebec, the words that will ring in your head will be prochaine station. As the doors hiss shut, it’s ‘prochaine station’ – (next station) – as you arrive at the next, its ‘prochaine station’. The electronic bulletin boards are flashing ‘prochaine station’ and by the time you are home after a busy day, the litany may continue behind your eyes; prochaine station….Mcgill…prochaine station….Places des Arts…..prochaine station…..stop now.
